This episode comes from the youtube livestream on December 5 2023. Things get off to a nice methodical start with a back and forth pattern that lays the groundwork for some nice textural and rhythmic growth. The next piece grows out of a heartbeat type of rhythm into a bluesier type of groove with some more aggressive drive to it. The third piece is more mellow, and settles into a more contemplative and pastel colored place. The fourth piece gradually builds of a harmonic bowed texture, and when I find the chord pattern that works the piece lends itself to some nice melodic explorations against a swirling background. I especially like the part towards the middle where the bass and percussion drop out and I build some harmonic arco lines. The final piece takes on an initial ethereal quality from a repetitive high strummed harmonic drone, and builds out of pizzicato pitter patters into something that becomes almost alarming at times, and then settles into a more resolute and bold tone of space exploration.
