Episode 34 Oceania

This episode comes from he twitch livestream on August 10th 2023. Things get started built around a swirling arco motif around a straightforward pizzicato rhythm, and build up with long arco lines, getting full and rich very quickly. Sometimes all you need is a couple of chords to create a shimmering ocean floor seascape. The next piece incorporates the same electronic rhythmic element as the end of Keeping things Weird, which I like to use to bridge the digital/classical divide. Once again it only takes a couple chords, and I’m happy I’ve embraced the simplicity here, as I was getting caught up with over complicating things in the previous episodes and tripping myself up. I like the sweeping textures here, with the driving forward movement, and especially like some of the rhythmic textural sounds I’m able to get in this piece. Things get ambient next, built around a ringy effect, and the chords from this are then used in the next piece as well which is more brief and has a nice arco theme. This is followed by an upbeat lively pizzicato based rhythmic song, which reminds me of a calypso sound, and is a really fun piece. The next piece is a bit more relaxed in pace and vibe, and has some nice dreamy moments throughout. The final piece is a nice relaxed textural exploration.
