Episode 28 Flirting with Dissonance
This stream from July 18 2023 gets off to a nice gentle start, with a nice swaying feel to the rhythm. The next one takes me a minute or two to figure out progression wise, but I eventually get there I think. The third song meanders for a bit as I look for a chord progression I like, which seems to be the theme of the stream. I think things coalesce once i get the second bowed layer down and it starts to groove. The fourth song continues in a similar trend where things take a while to get going, but I think once I get to the more rapid pizzicato half way through some cool stuff starts to happen. The fifth piece comes together much more easily than the previous ones, and I like how this one develops, building off the percussion well right away. This one has a nice flow through a few different textures, and the rhythm is such a critical part of it, I’m happiest with this piece from the stream.
